Charity Concert
On Monday 14 June 2010 over thirty musicians gathered together in West Road Concert Hall, Cambridge for a fundraising concert in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
All the musicians involved had been supported by Nigel Brown OBE in one way or another over the years, many of them through the syndicated instrument trusts. The stage was filled with stars of the classical music scene, and the instruments played included violins, violas and cellos by Stradivari, Guarneri, Guadagnini, Gofriller, Amati, Bergonzi, Brenzi and Ceruti. The programme included string orchestra works by Vaughan Williams, Bach and Elgar as well as extracts from Schubert’s Trout Quintet and the Mendelssohn Octet.
The concert was dedicated to the memory of Jeremy Marshall, former High Sheriff of Cambridge.
